Frequently Asked Questions

What types of services do you offer?

I provide 1:1 tutoring sessions, education consulting, and executive functioning coaching. I support students in the following subjects:

  • History (College & AP Level and below)

  • English Language (ELA, ESL)

  • Writing (academic, creative, etc.)

  • Reading

  • Test Prep (Regents, SAT, ACT, etc.)

  • Phonics

  • Spanish

  • Sociology/Anthropology

  • Executive Functioning Skills (organization, study habits, time management, emotional control)

I can prepare students for math on the SAT/ACT, however, math and science are not my specialties. If you are looking for significant math and science support, I can refer you to my associate, Mallory!

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are tailored to fit YOUR needs.

Maybe that looks like 30 minutes of last-minute homework help and 30 minutes of subject content review. Maybe you’re looking for a full lesson in a subject — I will write and deliver that lesson for you. Sometimes our sessions might look like going over college application requirements or deadlines! Or, sometimes we meet asynchronously to draft and revise college essays.

I specialize in AP History Exam prep, reading and writing development, and executive functioning.

However, I am flexible and here to help you become a successful, well-rounded student.

What are your rates?

Rates vary depending on the subject, session length, and how much prep time is required and start at $50/hr. However, I do offer special pricing when booking multiple sessions at a time.

I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots for new clients whose budget can’t fit my standard per-session rate. Please feel free to inquire about reduced-rate availability!

Please reach out for a specific cost breakdown!

Can I get a refund if I’m unhappy with the service?

Absolutely. If you are unhappy with the first lesson you book, I will happily refund your money.

How do I book?

Shoot me an email at passionsconnect@gmail.com with your desired time and date. Once we set a time, I will send you a booking link where you can seamlessly set up your session. All lessons are conducted via Zoom or with Google Meets.

What does your schedule look like?

My typical hours of operation are 8 am - 7 pm EST Monday through Friday. However, if you are an international student, please reach out. I can accommodate international time zones. I can occasionally meet on weekends for last-minute test prep, etc. However, because of events that inevitably come up on weekends, I can’t commit to a consistent weekend schedule.

I am based in NYC. If you prefer in-person sessions (available at a higher rate), please reach out directly, and we can make arrangements.

Occasionally, I offer FREE group reviews for popular subjects like AP History Exams. These usually take place before finals weeks and AP Exam dates. Join my email list to find out about upcoming events!

Do you work with international students?

Yes! I am a TEFL/TESOL certified educator with a passion for teaching students abroad. My experience includes instructing English as a foreign language and preparing students for the TOEFL exam, a prerequisite for applying to United States universities.

If you are an international student, please get in touch with me directly at passionsconnect@gmail.com. This will allow us to coordinate sessions that align with our respective time zones.
